Bench multimeters are chosen by resolution (5½ or 6½ digits), basic DC accuracy, reading speed and interfaces. For automated test, look for LAN, GPIB or USB with SCPI; for logging, look at reading memory.

RIGOL's DM858 and DM858E are compact 5½-digit meters with a 7-inch touch screen and USB-C power. The DM3058 and DM3058E are long-running 5½-digit system meters, and the DM3068 offers 6½ digits with fast reading and deep memory.

When one meter has to cover many channels, the M300 data acquisition/switch system scans up to 320 channels per mainframe with plug-in multiplexer, matrix and actuator cards and a 6½-digit DMM module. It can run scans on its own and store up to 100,000 time-stamped readings.
